This morning, visit Potala Palace.
It is more than 3,700 meters above sea level and it is the highest palace in the world! At the top the palace called golden roofs, you can have a bird-eye view of the whole of Lhasa. In the distance there are undulating mountain ranges, the beautiful Lhasa River, tracts of fields, tree-shaded villages and the glistening Jokhang Temple.
Afternoon, visit Jokhang Temple.
It is the first built during the period of Sontsan Gambo in the 7th century, features Buddhist prayer wheels, reclining deer, golden sutra streamers. You'll find that many Pilgrims pray before the monastery.
The circuit around it called Barkhor Street, a famous local handmade crafts market, which is a good place to purchase souvenirs.

Drepung Monastery was built in 1416 and is the largest monastery of the Gelug Sect. It covers an area of 250,000 square meters.
This is the largest monastery in the world and once housed 10,000 monks and nuns. It was built in 1419 and the second, third and fourth Dalai Lamas lived and were entombed here. A visit to the kitchen of this monastery is a must. Look out for the washing machine in which the monks mix their butter tea!
Sera Monastery is located in the northern suburb of Lhasa City.
The monastery was named Sera which means wild rose in the Tibetan language, because the hill behind it was covered with wild roses in bloom when the monastery was built. From Mon ~ Fri, every afternoon, you'll be able to see monks debating at Sera Monastery.

It takes you about 1.5 hrs to drive from Lhasa to Kambala Pass[4794m high, visit Yamdrok Lake there, which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet.
Mt Nojin Kangsang stands tall with an elevation of 7,191 m (23,592 ft) between Gyantze County and Nagarzê County, with several snow-capped mountains over 6,000 m (19,685 ft) surrounding it. Mount Nojin Kangsang is the most accessible glacier site on the Tibetan Plateau. The famous Kharola Glacier (elevation 5,560 m or 18,241 ft) is below the south ridge of Nojin Kangsang.

Tashilunpo Monastery: Visit Tashilunpo Monastery in the morning. It is one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelugpa (or Yellow Hat Sect) in Tibet. Also called the Heap of Glory, the monastery is located at the foot of Drolmari (Tara's Mountain), Shigatse. Founded by the First Dailai Lama in 1447, the monastery's structure was expanded by the Fourth and successive Panchen Lamas. It covers an area of nearly 300,000 square meters. The main structures found in the monastery are Maitreya Chapel, Panchen Lama's Palace and Kelsang Temple. Tashilhunpo is the seat of Panchen Lama since the Fourth Panchen Lama took charge in the monastery, and there are now nearly 800 lamas.
Rongbuk Monastery : Drive to Rongbuk Monastery in the afternoon. It's bumpy road with stone paved from Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery which takes about 3 hrs. drive. After your arrival, rest for acclimatization at the guesthouse of Rongbuk monastery, explore around and visit the highest monastery in the world on your own expense or enjoy the stunning sunset if the weather is good.

Get up early, you can enjoy the stunning sunrise at the top of the world. Then drive to Mt. Everest Base Camp [5200m] and touch the roof of the world. Drive to Zhangmu in the afternoon.

Day 01: Arrival at Lhasa (3595m)
Arrive at Lhasa from Kathmandu, Nepal. While flying from Kathmandu, enjoy the amazing views of the Himalaya, including Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and the Tibetan valleys. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport or train station, meet our Tibetan guide who will escort to Lhasa. After 1.5 hours scenic drive along the Brahmaputra River and Lhasa River finally reach wonder city, Lhasa. If going Lhasa by train, it takes around 20 minutes drive to reach the hotel in Lhasa city. Check into hotel. Take it easy today and have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 02: Lhasa City sightseeing, visit Potola Palace & Jokhang Temple
After breakfast, have an easy visit to Potala Palace- the highest palace in the world and is Lhasa’s cardinal landmark which offers an awesome view of entire city. It is the ideal example of architectural work and is mostly renowned as residence of the Dalai Lama lineages. After then visit Jokhang Monastery and Barkhor Market- Jokhang Monastery is the most revered and sacred shrine in all of Tibet and is constantly bustling with devotees. Barkhor Market is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Monastery and is a good place to purchase souvenirs. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 03: Lhasa City sightseeing, visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery & Norbulingka Summer Palace
Today tour begins with a visit to Drepung Monastery- the largest monastery among the great three Gelugpa university monasteries which was used to be the residence of the Dalai Lamas until the Great Fifth Dalai Lama constructed the Potala Palace. After then visit Sera Monastery- the second largest Gelugpa university monasteries in Tibet, is well preserved monastery of white-washed walls and golden roofs. Finally, visit Norbulingka- the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 04: Lhasa to Yamdrok Lake (4441m) to Gyantse (3980m) to Shigatse (3840m), 360 km, 7 hrs
Today, start journey by jeep along the Friendship Highway crossing the Kampala pass [4794m], from where enjoy the fabulous view of Yamdrok Lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. After then drive westwards over another high pass Karo la pass (5,045 m) from where have a amazing spectacle of Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar Glacier standing proud at 7252m. The unforgettable view of fan-shaped turquoise water of the lake and Nyenchen Khangsar Glacier is the wonder of day. Passing through beautiful valleys and colourful Tibetan villages arrive in the town of Gyantse and visit Gyantse Kumbum- an extraordinary architectural masterpiece with a large gold-domed stupa and its nine levels rise in the manner of a step pyramid made it one of the most distinctive temples in the world. Late afternoon drive to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.
Day 05: Shigatse to Lhatse to Shegar to Rongbuk Monastery (4900m), 340 km, 7 hrs
Early morning start driving to Rongphu via Lhatse and Shegar, cross over Gyatsola[5200m] & Gawu la pass[5250m], from the top of the Gawu la enjoy the spectacular view of Himalayan Ranges and its glorious peaks Mt. Makalu [8,463m], Mt.Lotse [8,516m], Mt.Everest [8,844m], Mt.Cho Oyu [8,201m] and Mt.Shishapama [8,020m] from Left to right. Climbing up and down through numbers of switchback bends lead to the dry valley of Tashi Zom and then to the Rongbuk. Visit Ronbuk Monastery- the highest monastery in Tibet and consist both monks and nuns, it is a good point to see Mt.Everest. Enjoy the marvelous, unique and face to face view of Mt. Everest with the famous Ronbuk Glacier (one of the largest glaciers) nearby, which would be definitely the great lifetime experience.
Day 06: Rongbuk to Everest base Camp (5150m] to Shegar to Shigatse (3840m), 340 km, 6-7 hrs
Morning enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Everest (if weather is clear). After breakfast drive 16 km round trip by local bus to the Everest Base Camp or can do trekking from the Tent guesthouses community to Everest Base Camp, which will take about 2 hours (6km). The dream of travel enthusiasts comes true while reached in a truly awe-inspiring place with the sheer north face of the highest mountain in the world towering to the sky. Late morning or early afternoon starts driving back to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.
Day 07: Shigatse to Lhasa (3595m), 300 km, 6 hrs
Morning, visit Tashilunpo Monastery one of the six big monasteries of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism and the home of the Panchen Lama, which is located on the hillside overlooking Shigatse northwest of the town. The main structures found here are the Maitreya Chapel and Kelsang Temple. Afternoon drive back to Lhasa along the northern friendship way, marvelous landscapes and sceneries along the Brahmaputra River will accompany all the way back to Lhasa. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 08: Departure
Today is the departure day from Lhasa. After breakfast, free till departure time. Transfer to the airport or train station for onward journey.
